I took a chance and got burned. Hating the Boss is epitome of everything I hate in romance novels.First, there's the classic white privileged male jerk masquerading as a "good guy."-Jaxon can't seem to be in a room with Raegan without thinking with his dick. But because he didn't take advantage of her when she was drunk I'm supposed to fall at his feet and worship him for being such a great dude? No thanks. Also, I don't care if you "know she wants you." She said no in a thousand different ways. Just because the reader has insight into Raegan's thoughts and knows Jaxon is right doesn't excuse the "I'm going to convince her we're meant to be together" behavior. No means no. Back off. Period.- Jaxon can't control his temper and tries to/does physically attack his brother at least 3 times.Also:- The prank war was stupid at best, immature and unprofessional at worst.- A hint of fat shaming- the whole relationship was a disaster and fraught with so many red flags it wasn't even fun to read.***Romance authors,I love romance novels. I really do. Bit please stop telling women this is as good as it gets. Please stop selling us these jerks dressed up in charm and rippling muscles. We deserve more than the Jaxon Waters of the world. Reading that strong bond between Raegan and the girls felt so authentic and it was truly beautiful. It made my heart smile. I need more romcom’s from Kristen. I need ALL the romcom’s from Kristen. This was too good. I’m obsessed and as always, in awe. She slays again!
